Beach Hotel Dhigurah ★★★★

Location and comfortable room

There is a confusion with location of hotel and villas which are located in different places

La ubicación es la mejor de la isla y la habitación era nueva recién hecha, aunque en la imagen estaba descrito que tendríamos balcón y no lo tenían (querían que pagásemos 50$ más por noche y no lo aceptamos). Hay algun empleado muy amable.

We booked through Booking.com without knowing the room was interior – it wasn’t mentioned in the listing. When we arrived, they told us that if we wanted a room with a balcony and view, it would be an extra $50 per night. The hotel is under construction, which really impacts the experience: with so few guests, excursions are very limited and you can only do them through the hotel (not with other centers). We wanted to visit the sandbank, but were told we had to pay the full price for 4 people even though we were only two, because no one else had signed up. Totally unfair. We also found a huge spider right outside our room in the hallway. We showed it to reception and were told they’d remove it, but nothing happened. After complaining three times, the manager finally took care of it – but having to insist that much is unacceptable. Everything comes with an extra charge: they don’t even offer towels. They exchange euros to dollars at a 1:1 rate (which is clearly not fair), and if you pay in local currency, there’s a commission on every activity. It honestly feels like they’re trying to squeeze money out of everything. Some staff are friendly, but one in particular was extremely rude. Breakfast is decent, but it’s basically the same every day with no variety. They advertise Dhigurah as “the whale shark island,” but then they make you travel one hour by speedboat just to get to the whale shark sighting points – very misleading. As for the island itself: it’s beautiful, with paradise-like beaches, jungle, a sandbank, and friendly locals. It’s still under construction and will probably become a full tourist resort soon. Prices are pretty much European, and everything is charged in dollars. Our recommendation: visit the island, but stay at a different hotel

The very beautiful and new hotel is wonderful located at the beginning of the bikinibeach. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and beautiful, with a nice fiew. The staff is very nice and friendly and helped us with everything, especially thanks to Farhead, who did the nice surprice for us (Foto below). We will come again.

At breakfast we would like to have more different fruits.

Nice new hotel front beach. All personnel was very welcoming smiley and nice during all our stay. Daily trip were organized to offer guest a good choice of activities to do during their stay. Room was equipped with all the required stuff for a good stay. Beach towel provided. Good breakfast.

We stayed in a room with no balcony and we have difficulties in finding a place where to dry our swim clothes during the stay.

Staff very friendly amd service minded. Went outside their obligations as a hospitality provider. Clean and safe with good food and assisting in arranginh activities.

Hi , This wont be a positive review . ( actually my first one for a accommodation even we travel a lot ) This has nothing to do with people working here , they are kind and helpful , So i you are planning to visit this accommodation , be prepared for following . If you see a garden view villa as on imagines . ATOLLKEY , for us apartment 103 The apartment is on the Main Street . Everyone coming to island is passing by , so no privacy . The beach in front of the apartment is no bikini beach , only for locals . You have breakfast in the hotel which is like 800meters away from apartment ( they will pick you up with buggy ) but won’t bring you back. As well . If you are looking for a beach to visit and swim and enjoy . Beach for tourist ist like 820meters , the bikini beach which WE , tourist should use . So don’t trust what’s booking saying , it’s not true . You can get to beach nr1 30meters ( in front of the apartment) no bikini beach . Second , also no bikini , only for locals like 450meters . . Photos , yes the photos are styled very well . Inside and also outside . Outside you see old building . Roof in not good condition. Doors ? Is on one funny lock , there could come anytime someone like nothing . 1) after 8 hours after check in we haven’t had even warm water not hot , only cold water. 1) they were trying to fix the shower with no hot water for 4 days , when they repaired it lasted 2-3 minutes not even close to hot 2) the good idea about open shower is when there is storm / rain . ( which we had all days ) you have so much dirt there . Wood from tree , leafs , dirt 3) after 3 days we haven’t had new towels changed even the room was cleaned . 4) again at the Door , when it’s closed at the top and at the bottom are 1cm wide wholes , troughs 2cm big ants went to room and they were like 20-30 there . 5) no ropes / no place to leave clothes to dry off , no clothes hanger .
